Custom website design UK, for a fixed £500
A real site built around your business — not a template with your logo swapped in. One fixed fee, no surprise invoices, live within 2–3 weeks.
What “custom” actually means
A lot of agencies use the word “custom” to mean they bought a premium theme and changed the colours. That's not what we do.
We design your site from a blank canvas, starting with who your customers are and what action you need them to take. The layout, the page structure, the calls to action — all of it is decided by what makes sense for your specific business. A plumber's site needs to get people to call or request a quote as fast as possible. A consultancy site needs to build credibility before it converts. A local retailer needs to communicate location, opening hours, and stock. These require different designs, and a template can't account for that.
We also don't use drag-and-drop builders like Wix or Squarespace. Your site is written in clean code, which means it loads faster, is easier to maintain, and doesn't carry the performance overhead of a builder platform trying to do everything for everyone.
The design process, in plain terms
We keep it simple. No long agency timelines, no endless approval chains.
Discovery
A short call or brief where we learn about your business, your customers, and what success looks like for your site. This is where we agree on the pages, structure, and tone.
Design
We produce a visual design for your homepage (and key pages) for you to review. You’ll see how it looks before a line of code is written. We build in one round of revisions here.
Build
Once the design is approved, we build the full site. Pages are built to exactly match the design, and we make sure it works correctly on mobile, tablet, and desktop.
Review
You get a live preview link to check everything before launch. We go through it together and fix anything that needs adjusting.
Launch
We push the site live on your domain, set up redirects if needed, and submit it to Google Search Console. Your £150/month hosting starts from this point.
What's included in the £500
The £500 build fee is fixed — it doesn't change based on how many revisions you ask for or how many emails you send. Here's what it covers:
- Custom-designed website, up to 5 pages
- Mobile-responsive layout tested across devices
- On-page SEO foundation: page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, sitemap
- Working contact form connected to your email
- Basic copywriting guidance throughout
- Site live on our hosting from day one
For the full breakdown of what each fee covers, including the monthly plan, see the pricing page.
Who this is for
We work with UK small businesses, sole traders, and local service providers who need a professional website but don't have the budget — or the appetite — for a full agency engagement.
That might be a plumber who needs people to find them on Google and call. A consultant who needs to look credible before a pitch. A small retailer who needs an online presence beyond a Facebook page. A new business that needs a site up before launch day.
What our clients have in common is that they want a site that works — one that loads fast, looks professional on a phone, and actually helps people get in touch — without spending months in briefing meetings or paying for features they'll never use. If that sounds like you, we're a good fit.
Why fixed pricing removes the usual risk
Scope creep is the normal way agency projects go over budget. You agree on a price, then the brief expands, revisions accumulate, and the invoice climbs — often significantly.
Fixed pricing changes the dynamic. Because the cost is agreed upfront, there's no incentive for either side to let the project bloat. We scope carefully at the start, deliver to that scope, and you know exactly what you're paying before any work begins.
If you do need more than the standard package — extra pages, e-commerce functionality, a custom booking system — we'll price that separately and clearly before starting. You won't find it on your invoice as a surprise line item at the end.
The same logic applies to the monthly plan. £150/month covers hosting, updates, and SEO — no add-on fees for security updates, no separate invoice for a blog post. We also offer ongoing SEO as part of that monthly work, rather than a separate retainer you have to negotiate.
Common questions
How long does the build take?
- Most sites are live within 2–3 weeks of us agreeing on the brief. The main thing that affects timing is how quickly we can get content and feedback from you — the sooner you can respond to design drafts, the faster we move. If you’re working to a deadline, tell us upfront and we’ll plan around it.
What if I don’t have content or photos ready?
- That’s fine — most clients don’t. We’ll help you structure your content during the discovery call, give you a simple page-by-page content brief, and shape whatever you send us for the web. For photos, we can use high-quality stock imagery to get you live, then swap in real photos later. The site won’t be held up because you haven’t had a professional photoshoot.
Can I request changes during the build?
- Yes — one round of revisions is built into the process. Once you’ve seen the design, you can give us consolidated feedback and we’ll make adjustments before the final build. What we’re not able to do is restart the design from scratch mid-build, but in practice that hasn’t happened because we do a proper discovery session upfront.
