Blog content, written for you every month

Up to 2 posts a month — researched, written, and published to your site without you lifting a finger. Included in the £150/month plan.

Why blogging matters for a small business site

A website without fresh content is a static brochure. It might rank for your business name and not much else. Blogging changes that — it gives Google new pages to index and gives your customers a reason to come back.

Every new post is an opportunity to appear in search results for questions your customers are already asking. A plumber writing about “how to fix a dripping tap” isn't giving away their business — they're positioning themselves as the expert a reader will call when the job is bigger than a YouTube video. A consultant writing about their sector demonstrates they know what they're talking about before a prospect ever picks up the phone.

Google's algorithm actively rewards sites that publish relevant, useful content consistently over time. Two posts a month doesn't sound like much, but it adds up to 24 indexed pages per year — each one a potential entry point from search, and each one adding to the cumulative authority of your site.

How the process works in practice

You don't need to arrive with a content calendar or a list of topics. That's part of what we do.

Each month, we look at what your customers are searching for in your industry and locality, what your competitors are ranking for, and what gaps your site currently has. We bring you two topic suggestions — with a brief summary of why each one is worth writing — and you approve, swap, or redirect. Once agreed, we research, write, and publish the post to your site. You can review it before it goes live, or trust us to publish directly if you prefer.

If you do have topics you want covered — a new service you're launching, a question you get asked constantly, something seasonal coming up — bring them to us and we'll work from those instead. The process is collaborative, not prescriptive. Your knowledge of the business, our knowledge of what ranks: that combination is what makes the content work.

The types of content that work well for small businesses

Not all blog posts are equal. These formats tend to perform well for small business sites both in search and with readers.

How-to guides

"How to choose a solicitor for a small business"

Answers a specific question your customer is Googling. Establishes expertise before they've even contacted you.

FAQ posts

"What does a plumber charge to fit a new boiler in the UK?"

Targets price and process queries directly. Customers who read this are close to buying.

Local content

"Best time of year to landscape a garden in Yorkshire"

Combines your service with location — effective for ranking in local search results where competition is lower.

Case studies

"How we helped a Leeds café reduce their energy bill by 30%"

Shows real outcomes for real customers. Builds trust in a way a service page can't.

Blog content doesn't work in isolation — it's one part of a joined-up approach to making your site more visible on Google.

Every post we write is planned around real keyword data, not just topics that seem interesting. We look at search volume, how competitive the term is, and how it connects to what you sell — so each piece of content is doing a specific job, not just filling space on a blog page. Posts are internally linked to your service pages, which passes relevance signals through your site and reinforces what you do to Google.

Over time, a consistent body of content builds the topical authority that helps your main service pages rank higher too. A plumber who has 20 articles about plumbing topics signals to Google that this is a site that genuinely covers the subject — which carries more weight than a five-page brochure site with no supporting content. Common questions

Do I need to come up with topics, or do you suggest them?

We suggest topics based on your industry, your customers’ common questions, and keyword research. You’ll approve them before we write anything — so you’re not getting content that doesn’t reflect your business. If you do have specific topics you want covered, we’re happy to work from those too. Most clients find the mix works well: we bring the SEO angle, they bring the business knowledge.

How long are the posts, and will they sound like us?

Posts are typically 600–1,000 words — long enough to be useful to a reader and to rank well, short enough to actually be read. Before we write anything, we get a feel for your tone from your existing content and a brief conversation. We’re not trying to sound like a generic agency blog; the point is content your customers would find on your site and believe you wrote.

Can I request more than 2 posts a month?

The standard plan includes up to 2 posts per month. If you want more — for example, during a launch period or a busy seasonal stretch — just ask and we’ll give you a clear fixed price for the additional posts before we start.

Let us take care of the content

Tell us about your business and we'll show you the kinds of topics we'd target for your industry — no commitment required.
